Evans is a city located in Weld County, Colorado. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 9,514.

Evans’ population continues to increase, which the Census Bureau identified at 9,514 in 2000 to 14,288 in 2003. As a result, Evans’ philosophy of planned, responsible and sustained growth consistently aimed at improving our community's quality of life brings us great economic potential.
Historically, Evans has emerged as a "Bedroom Community". This designation means the City has traditionally developed as a residential community with most of the labor force working elsewhere.
The basic land surface consists of level terrain to the east with low hills in the west. The City of Evans covers approximately 7.16 square miles, with an elevation varying from 4,640 feet up to 4,900 feet.
Climate in the Evans area is dry and generally mild, with a 148-day growing season. The winters are mild and summers warm.

As of the census of 2000, there are 9,514 people, 3,277 households, and 2,359 families residing in the city. The population density is 961.6/km² (2,489.9/mi²). There are 3,404 housing units at an average density of 344.1/km² (890.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 71.08% White, 0.79% African American, 1.28% Native American, 0.71% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 22.45% from other races, and 3.66% from two or more races. 40.08% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 3,277 households out of which 43.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.3% are married couples living together, 14.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.0% are non-families. 19.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.90 and the average family size is 3.33.
In the city the population is spread out with 32.1% under the age of 18, 14.2% from 18 to 24, 32.3% from 25 to 44, 15.2% from 45 to 64, and 6.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 27 years. For every 100 females there are 98.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.9 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $37,158, and the median income for a family is $42,983. Males have a median income of $30,938 versus $22,946 for females. The per capita income for the city is $15,329. 14.9% of the population and 9.8% of families are below the poverty line.
