Johnstown is a town located in both in Weld County and Larimer County, Colorado. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,827. Population estimates in 2005 place the population over 7,000. The Town of Johnstown is located in northern Colorado on Interstate 25 at Highway 60.
According to the Census Bureau the Town of Johnstown was the 7th fastest-growing town in the State from 2002 to 2003 and in Weld County from 2000 to 2003.

As of the census of 2000, there are 3,827 people, 1,339 households, and 1,052 families residing in the town. The population density is 1,296.2/km² (3,346.0/mi²). There are 1,371 housing units at an average density of 464.3/km² (1,198.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 85.21% White, 0.13% African American, 0.60% Native American, 0.34% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 11.86% from other races, and 1.86% from two or more races. 23.96% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,339 households out of which 41.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.7% are married couples living together, 7.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.4% are non-families. 16.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.86 and the average family size is 3.21.
In the town the population is spread out with 30.4% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 35.0% from 25 to 44, 19.6% from 45 to 64, and 7.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 99.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 97.1 males.
The median income for a household in the town is $50,404, and the median income for a family is $54,130. Males have a median income of $39,680 versus $26,108 for females.
