Roxborough Park is a census-designated place located in Douglas County, Colorado. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 4,446.

Roxborough Park, CO History

The first documented gold discovery occurred on June 22, 1850. A prospector headed for California, Lewis Ralston, dipped his gold pan into an stream. His return was a $5 gold nugget. In 1858, Ralston brought a group of prospectors back to the site of his first discovery. Farmers soon arrived in order to sell supplies to miners. The railroad was built through the area in 1870. The settlers, needing to establish a town so that the railroad stop could have a name, filed a town plat. The town was named Roxborough Park after the brother-in-law of one of the settlers.

There are 1,637 housing units at an average density of 65.1/km² (168.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 93.88% White, 0.47% African American, 0.47% Native American, 1.42% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 1.71% from other races, and 1.96% from two or more races. 5.58% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,587 households out of which 43.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 77.1% are married couples living together, 4.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 16.3% are non-families. 10.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 0.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.80 and the average family size is 3.03.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 29.4% under the age of 18, 4.0% from 18 to 24, 41.9% from 25 to 44, 21.8% from 45 to 64, and 2.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 104.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 103.5 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP is $78,607, and the median income for a family is $81,281. Males have a median income of $51,543 versus $35,968 for females.
